Course Description:
The timeless craft of basketry can seem complicated and fiddly to the untrained eyes and hands. This course has been designed to guide total beginners step by step through each stage of the basket making process making it easy to understand.

Participants will be shown a series of demonstrations throughout the day and will receive individual guidance when needed. Participants will leave with their own finished basket and the knowledge needed to continue this craft. Once the basic principles and weaving patterns are learnt you will have the knowledge to make baskets ranging up to full sized log baskets; the techniques are exactly the same. On this course you will learn how to weave a small to medium sized multipurpose/ vegetable basket like those pictured on this page.

Tea and coffee making facilities, soft drinks provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

See course dates above, courses run from 10:00am - 05:00pm

Each course has a maximum of 6 participants so that ample guidance can be given to everyone.
